A3 "Cygnus Alpha" (Blake's 7)

I half expect that "Eliminate" in the titles to say "Exterminate". This is by Terry Nation, after all.

On a blue planet at night a beardy wierdy & Toos from  watch the London fly thru space like a white dot.

Flashback in B&W over transmission of the Captain's log... Raiker's dead, Blake, Avon and Jenna escaped.

Here they are getting to grips with their snazzy new ship. Avon's found guns. "It's a bit elaborate for a toothpick."

Avon points a gun at Blake. Won't be the last time, either.

The Liberator is "not just advanced, it's conceptually alien." Love it.

Jenna takes the Liberator for a joyride. It gets in her head and she goes a bit spacey.

Now the 4th member of the crew announces itself, Zen the computer.

Back on Cygnus Alpha Toos tells beardy to tell "him" that fresh meat's arrived.

Avon thinks they've found a matter transmitter based on use of a particular alloy. Blake just fancies those bracelets.

The ship has been named "Liberator" based on Jenna's thoughts... and it's faster than they expected.

Down on the planet, the prisoners are moved out. Vila's off on one. "There was a young lady from Cygnus..."

Cold as a corpse's armpit.

Toos beckons to Vila, Gan and the randoms.

Gan finds a crucified corpse. "So Perish Unbelievers" reads the sign.

Blake takes a chance on the teleporter and soon he too is in David Maloney's favourite quarry.

Toos and beardy chase Blake. Avon puts little coloured ringbinder stickers on the console.

Love the outline effect of the teleporter.

"How does it feel?" "A bit like your property when Vila's around - suddenly you're somewhere else!"

"The architecture style is early maniac..."

Toos tells Gan to kneel then snogs him. Vila's getting ideas now. "I like god's taste in servants!"

Blake teleports down again, and this time remembers to take a gun.

Blake sneaks into Toos' monastery. That's not a euphemism.

Their 'god' is a metallic bust on a wall, and chief religious nut is the shy and retiring Brian Blessed.

Bri knows theres guests so he lays on a nice tray of extra strong mints.

Toos has Gan in her dungeon. Also not a euphemism.

Blake puts out beardy's light and finds Gan. The prisoners have been told they have a disease and are in quarantine.

Jenna's changed her outfit, and has found another room Avon might like. Bet it has a giant mirror in. He'd like that.

Blake's been captured by Brian "timid as a mouse" Blessed.

Bri decides to have a bit of a shout about his made up religion.

Blake tries to score some drugs. Bri has a bit of a shout about it.

The mystery room is full of riches. Avon's claiming that one. And top bunk.

"He can't win; you know he can't win. What do you want to be: rich or dead?" Ever the optimist, Avon.

Bri tells the other prisoners they can't have the drug they need to survive unless they deliver Blake.

Blake leads the prisoners to rebel and it all kicks off in a slugfest for control of the Liberator bracelets.

Toos calls out to warn Gan, and gets a spear thrown at her for her troubles. Arco bites the dust.

Blake has to go back for the gun, shoots the statue, then does a rather nifty stunt dive.

Jenna and Avon teleport Blake, Vila and Gan back to the ship... and Brian Blessed.

Shouty Bri makes steps his trainers over the teleport line and is sent off the ship, to explode in space.

Federation ships are after them. They can outrun them, but for how long?

6 of the crew together now, only 1 more to recruit. Next time...

TTFN! K.
Coming Soon... Dalek
